Super Bowl report: New England Patriots

Arlington outlook: Strong. The road to the Super Bowl goes through New England, where the Patriots are 8-0 this year.

Scouting report: The Patriots may not be perfect but they're pretty much flawless. They don't make mistakes. It makes them more dangerous than when they entered the playoffs 16-0 three seasons ago. Tom Brady hasn't thrown an interception since Week 5. The team had just one turnover in the final eight games. BenJarvus Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead give the Patriots a reliable running game, but it's still Brady's show. His 36 touchdowns led the NFL.

JerryTron legacy: What would make for unbelievable viewing on the biggest screen and the biggest stage? Well, is there another quarterback you'd rather watch run a 2-minute drill in a Super Bowl than Brady? Unless Joe Montana really is making a comeback in that Skechers commercial, Brady is pretty much the best in the business.

Player to watch: If the Patriots have an Achilles' heel it's a pass defense ranked 30th in the league. Credit some of that to teams playing from behind. Rookie Devin McCourty led the team with seven picks. He gives the Patriots the type of playmaking cornerback that played such big roles in their past title runs -- think Ty Law and Asante Samuel.
