Super Bowl History

If you ask me to talk about Super Bowl history there are two routes the conversation can go. You and I can have a nice chat about how great XXXIV was—Mike Jones! Isaac Bruce's incredible touchdown catch! Even the weird Disney halftime show, if you were into that! (Hey, I love EPCOT, too, it's cool!) We can talk about Pets.com and even Eddie George being good, which is something I've forgotten about entirely. We can talk about Steve McNair if it isn't too soon.

Alternately: you can ask me about Super Bowl XXXVI and I can punch you in the throat. A list of approved Super Bowl XXXVI topics: Ricky Proehl's awesome effort after the catch to put the Rams in a tie with the New England Patriots shortly before the Louisiana Superdome was obliterated in a random explosion. Also, Drew Bledsoe.

Maybe it's for the best that the St. Louis Rams aren't in a position to sneak into Super Bowl XLV. When I think of those 1999 Rams it seems like every player brings up a fond memory. Who's ready for Laurent Robinson to make a game-saving catch? For Kenneth Darby to emerge as a force? A little more depth might make it less frustrating when it comes time to celebrate the next Rams Super Bowl team's improbable drive to the championship.
