Best Buy Annouces Ad for Super Bowl 2011
Best Buy has bought a 30 second spot to announce something really big on Super Bowl Sunday. Something that will revolutionize retailing. It is supposed to be innovative and a first ever according to a statement from Best Buy VP of Marketing Drew Panayiotou in the Adage report. What Best Buy has up its sleeve is unclear. Typically the time leading up to the Super Bowl is more important for Best Buy. Best Buy and TV manufactures use the Super Bowl to convince consumers that they need a new (large) TV to watch the big game.
The Best Buy Super Bowl 2011 Ad will likely not be about a product. It most likely is about a new shopping experience. It could imagine that it will involve mobile technology, NFC or augmented reality.
Other Super Bowl 2011 newcomers we already reported are Mercedes and BMW is back after a four year break. Pepsi is also back after one year pause.
