Dome field advantage is working out well for the Atlanta Falcons thus far. The Falcons are the early favorite to take home the NFC crown.
Oddsmakers have installed the Falcons as 7-4 favorites to represent the NFC in Super Bowl XLV in Arlington, Tex., according to scoresandodds.com.
That makes sense because as long as the Falcons keep winning the path to the Super Bowl runs through Peachtree Street. Atlanta has had some serious success at home with Matt Ryan at QB. The third-year standout from Boston College is 20-2 at the Dome.
The odds of the No. 2 seed Chicago Bears of winning the NFC are slightly behind the Falcons at 2-1, followed by the No. 3 seed Philadelphia Eagles (3-1), No. 5 seed Philadelphia Eagles (7-2) and No. 6 seed Green Bay Packers (4-1).
The No. 4 seed Seattle Seahawks, who won the NFC West despite a 7-9 record, are 75-1 long shots to make it to Dallas.
Over in the other conference, the No. 1 seed New England Patriots are heavy favorites to represent the AFC. They are 5-8 favorites. Every $1 you wager will return a whopping $1.635 cents.
The odds on the No. 2 seed Pittsburgh Steelers making it to Super Bowl XLV are 5-2, followed by the No. 5 seed Baltimore Ravens (5-1), the No. 6 seed New York Jets (8-1) and the No. 3 seed Indianapolis Colts (8-1).
The Kansas City Chiefs are 10-1 to win the AFC title.
When it comes down to the Super Bowl, New England is an early 6-5 favorite (a $1 bet wins $2.20). Atlanta and Pittsburgh are both 4-1. Indianapolis is 9-1, while the Bears, Saints, Ravens and Packers are 10-1.
The Jets and the Eagles have a 14-1 shot to win the big game. The Chiefs and Seahawks are long shots. Kansas City faces 30-1 odds, while Seattle faces 75-1 odds to win the Super Bowl, which kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Eastern on Feb. 6 at Cowboys Stadium .
Another Super Bowl is about happen after the victory of New Orleans Saints as Super Bowl 2010 winner last year. As we end the 2010 NFL regular season with the last game being that of St. Louis Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks at the Qwest Field on January 2, 2011, the much awaited clash between the AFC and NFC Champions, the Super Bowl 2011 will be held next month. The date of the event will be on February 6, 2011 at the Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Tara Green, Vice President COO of the North Texas Super Bowl 45 Host Committee points out a number of things to watch for as Super Bowl 2011 nears saying: “This month, you’re going to start seeing Super Bowl 2011 signage being installed, out at the airports, downtown areas, all around. It will be general awareness signage. And you’ll see advertising for the NFL experience, radio TV-reps, the NFL has a very aggressive marketing campaign to promote ticket sales.”
“Billboards will be springing up from every where. Not just from NFL alone but also from sponsors of the Super Bowl. You’ll see a lot more Super Bowl 2011 merchandise for sale in the area. Make sure you look for the tag that has the official NFL logo on it that shows that it’s a licensed merchandise,” Green continued.
He also warned the public by saying: “I’ve started seeing a lot more signs going up that say, “Rent Your Homes For The Super Bowl”. Buyer beware. There are enough hotel rooms in the area to accommodate all of the Super Bowl 2011 travelers that are coming in. Home rentals won’t be a big factor here in North Texas. For a non-refundable listing fee, they’ll rent your home out for the event. You see those year after year where Super Bowls are played, and people should not be fooled.”
Furthermore, he also advises fans to look for the friendly Super Bowl 2011 volunteers which will be at the airports, hotel functions, everywhere starting in the week of the Super Bowl. Fans should approach them and ask any questions they might have about the big event.
FOX got the official rights to broadcast Super Bowl 2011 in the United States while several TV stations will cover it live in other countries. Advertisers such as Pepsi-Cola, Anheuser-Busch InBev, GoDaddy.com, and Hyundai all lined up for the much awaited event of the year.
Wearing the emotions of a season like no other on his face, Giants co-owner John Mara moved slowly into a now empty visiting locker room at FedEx Field early Sunday evening. Over the previous three hours, his team went from needing help to get into the playoffs, to helping themselves with a 17-14 victory over the Washington Redskins while getting eliminated when Green Bay beat Chicago as the Giants were wrapping up their 10th win of the season.
The rollercoaster ride that began with blowing a 21-point lead in the final eight minutes against the Philadelphia Eagles two weekends back, ended with the interception Jay Cutler threw at Lambeau Field to seal their fate Sunday. And Mara, amid the bitter disappointment of the moment, sought to immediately clear up the most pressing matter. "There was never any doubt that (coach Tom Coughlin) would be back next season," he said. "Never any doubt in my mind. Never any doubt in (co-owner) Steve Tisch's mind. Never any doubt in (general manager) Jerry Reese's mind."
Sure, the FieldTurf is always greener somewhere else, with calls for Bill Cowher as Big Blue's next boss reverberating through every facet of the media in recent weeks. But Coughlin earned himself the final season of his contract with the way he got this team to respond after a letdown in Green Bay that likely couldn't have been avoided after the Eagle debacle.
Even beyond the regrets of the past four months is the feeling that over the past three seasons, the Giants have failed to take advantage of an opportunity to build an NFL powerhouse after their stunning Super Bowl win following the 2007 season. It was two years ago last month that Mara stood in the back of the FedEx Field press box, again surrounded by reporters, and addressed the situation with Plaxico Burress, who two nights earlier had shot himself in the leg in a Manhattan nightclub.
Things haven't been quite the same since then.
They appeared headed back to the Super Bowl at that point, with the best record in the NFC, only to stumble down the stretch before the Eagles eliminated them in their playoff opener.
The Black Eyed Peas was chosen to bring half time entertainment to the world’s most awaited annual event – Super Bowl 2011. The Super Bowl is watched by millions of people all over the globe with some people even watching just the Super Bowl commercials and ads.
Hip-hop is back on Superbowl this year and it has been a while since they picked younger artists since the 2004 wardrobe malfunction of Janet Jackson. Organizers thought that it was just inappropriate to have a show like that and after 2004, they chose a more classic set of entertainers.
The Black Eyed Peas sold millions of albums worldwide with their hit comeback album that made the world dance. Even with the hip-hop / pop genre, Black Eyed Peas still is a conservative choice but definitely a hot group to perform half time.
Regular season for the NFL officially ends today, January 2, 2011 giving way to the Wild Card Weekend happening on January 8 and 9, 2011. Two wild card games are to be held on NBC on January 8 late afternoon and at night.
CBS and FOX will be airing the wild card games on January 9. Confirm this with your local cable / TV subscription.
