Super Bowl odds and predictions

On Monday, the Las Vegas Sports Consultants, who advise Nevada sports books on betting lines, came out with their odds for the 12 playoff teams to win the Super Bowl. Not surprisingly, Peyton Manning (pictured) and the Colts were 8-5 favorites to win it all, while the Jets were the longshots at 25-1.

Don't tell that to Rex Ryan.

Coming in with the league's best record at 14-2, the Colts were the easy choice as favorites, according to Mike Seba, a senior oddsmaker.

“Indy has been the most consistent team all year,” he said in a telephone interview with Bloomberg News. “They don’t blow teams out, but they win the big games. You can play with them, but it’s hard to beat them.”

Seba acknowledged the Jets' top-ranked defense as a way they can stay in games, and he didn't discount the possibility of an upset in Cincy (the Bengals have the second longest odds at 20-1). But he doesn't give them a shot in the divisional round.

"It's all over after that," he said about them winning on Saturday.

The Vikings are at 5-1, but Seba said without Brett Favre, "they'd be 20-1," while the Chargers, winners of 11 straight, are the second favorite with New Orleans at 5-2.
